Green Fingers

With the warmer weather upon us, some of our gardeners are out busy planting potatoes and onions.

After the long winter and poor weather, we have finally been able to plant some vegetables in our school allotment.   Potatoes and onions have been planted today and hopefully will grow quickly and will allow our pupils to enjoy some fresh vegetables.  Often, produce from the allotment is used in class cookery lessons or by our Kitchen in producing school dinners.

"It's good fun doing some of the gardening but it is quite tricky planting the onions because you have to space them out and not plant them too deeply," said James in Year 6.

According to the information on the packets, we will be expecting crops in mid-July, which will be just before children break up for the Summer Holidays.  A tasty treat for the end of term.
