Music

2 children playing the keyboardAt Church Crookham Junior School we believe that music is an important part of the school curriculum and wish to develop the children’s practical skills and emotional responses so that they may lay the foundations of lifelong enjoyment.

As well as the opportunities for class music there are regular opportunities for whole school productions, singing as a whole school, taking part in local festivals when the opportunity arises, group lessons from visiting teachers, having visiting professionals for concerts and workshops, and going to concerts off site.  We currently use the Hampshire Listen2me scheme where all classes of children learn to play a musical instrument over the course of a term.  This is well received and enjoyed by pupils.

In addition to class music lessons, we also have tuition provided by peripatetic teachers from Hampshire Music Service in  woodwind, guitar, keyboard, brass and violin tuition. Click here to find out more about the Hampshire Music Service.  We also offer lessons from Rock Steady Music who offer electric guitar, drums and keyboard.  Click here to find out more about Rock Steady Music.
